Love

Thais Metamorphosis

by William Drummond of Hawthornden 1585–1649

Love

INto Briareus huge
Thais wish'd she might change
Her Man, and pray'd him not thereat to grudge,
Nor fondly thinke it strange;
For if (said she) I might the parts dispose,
I wish you not a hundred Armes nor Hands,
But hundred things like those
With which Priapus in our Garden stands.
