The Dedication to Momus

I To Maecenas dedicate my book,
Hee'l read it with no supercilious look;
To each Ingenious Reader I transmit
The same, he best knows how to judge of it;
To th' simple that he may admire't, I give,
Whom 'cause he understands not, I forgive;
To all my Poetizing friends I send it,
But to you only (Momus) I commend it.
