Greek Pretenders to Philosophy
Translated by Leigh Hunt (1857) · From The Poetical Works of Leigh Hunt (1857)
Lofty-brow-flourishers,
Nose-in-beard-wallowers,
Bag-and-beard-nourishers,
Dish-and-all-swallowers ;
Old-cloak-in vestitors,
Barefoot-lookfashioners,
Night-private-feasteaters,
Craft-lucubration ers ;
Youth-cheaters, word-catchers, vaingloryosophers,
Such are such seekers of virtue, philosophers.
