Wonderful is Thy Love
Translated by Nina Salaman (1924) · From Selected Poems of Jehudah Halevi (Jewish Publication Society, 1924)
May my sweet song be pleasing in Thy sight, and the goodness of my praise,
O Beloved, who art flown afar from me, at the evil of my deeds!
But I have held fast unto the corner of the garment of love of Him who is tremendous and wonderful.
Enough for me is the glory of Thy name; that is my portion alone from all my labour.
Increase the sorrow, I shall love but more, for wonderful is Thy love to me.
