Hymn 215

by Benjamin Keach 1640–1704

From Spiritual Melody (1691), Part IX

Religion

THe Lord is just in all his ways,
Holy in all he doth;
And nigh to ev'ry one that prays,
And calls on him in truth.

He will fulfill the just desires
Of all the holy Seed;
He hears their cry, what that requires,
And helps them at their need.

The Lord preserveth faithfully
All those that do him love,
But all the wicked he'll destroy
With vengeance from above:

Therefore my mouth shall speak his praise,
And universal flesh
His holy Name renown shall raise,
And ever sound afresh.
