Love
Ill Age the Memory, as the Eye Itself
From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)
Love
Ill age the memory, as the eye itself,
Sees near things indistinctly, far things well,
And often that which happen'd years ago
Seems sprung from yesterday, while yesterday's
Fair birth lies half-forgotten and deform'd.
