Nature
Primrose to Be Dried in a Book
From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)
Nature
Humble flower! the gift of Rose!
If to-day thy life must close,
Yet for ever shalt thou be
Just as fair and fresh to me;
And when I am underground
Shalt among these leaves be found,
And the finder shall exclaim
"Up! arise! awake to fame!
He who gave thee length of days
Held her flower above his bays."
