Living

Brighton, 1807

by Walter Savage Landor 1775–1864

From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)

Living

You ask what he's doing
Who lately was wooing,
And fear'd but those frowns
That came dark o'er the downs:
When night is returning
He sighs for the morning,
And ere the first light
Sighs again for the night.
