Living
Disturbers of the Earth! Who Make
From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)
Living
Disturbers of the earth! who make
Her fairest regions quail and quake,
As torn Vesuvius at this hour
By some alike infernal power.
God's realm with God ye might possess,
But ye will ever strive for less.
Fools! fools! the fragile crowns ye wear
Sink into slough and leave you there.
