Time & Brevity

Of Early Days and Promist Hours

by Walter Savage Landor 1775–1864

From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)

And eyes that brighten'd shady bowers
Visions had floated round the head
Of Sophron; he awoke and said,
"Ah! were but all things what they seem
Then life were nearly worth a dream.
