Love

Book V, 257

by Palladas of Alexandria 4th century AD

Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. I, 1916)

Love

Now I condemn Zeus as a tepid lover, since he did not transform himself for this haughty fair’s sake. She is not second in beauty to Europa or Danae or tender Leda. But perhaps he disdains courtesans, for know they were maiden princesses he used to seduce.
