Book IV, 78: To RHEMVS
From Divine Fancies (1633), Book IV
Religion
Thy Conscience tels thee, that to make debate
Twixt Prince and People; to subvert a State;
To violate a Truce, to murther Kings
Are lawfull; nay, are meritorious things:
Thou hast a Freedome more then we, wherein
To doe against thy Conscience, and not sin.
