Hesper

by Sappho c. 630 – c. 570 BC

Translated by Rennell Rodd (1916) · From Love, Worship and Death (1916)

Nature

That radiant dawn sped far and wide:
The sheep to fold, the goat to stall,
The children to their mother's side.
