History & Politics

O, great was Wu the king,
For mightiest deeds renowned!
Gifted indeed was Wan,
Who paved his followers' way;
Thou, Wu, took'st up his work,
Didst vanquish Yin, and stay-
Its deeds of cruelty;
Performing to the fall
Thy task of high emprise.
