Postscript

by Algernon Charles Swinburne 1837–1909

From Studies in Song, A Century of Roundels, Sonnets on English Dramatic Poets, The Heptalogia, Etc.

Religion

Friends, if I could take
Half a note from Blake
Or but one verse make

Song above your nest
I would sing: the quest
Now seems too divine.

April 28, 1881.
