Love
Epigram 2: Loue
From The Nipping and Snipping of Abuses (1614)
Love
Loue is a dying life, a liuing death.
A vapor, shadow, buble, and a breath:
An idle bable, and a paltry toy,
Whose greatest Patron is a blinded boy:
But pardon loue, my iudgement is vniust,
For what I spake of loue, I meant of lust.
