Living

Riddle 68

by Carolyn Wells 1862–1942

From At the Sign of the Sphinx (Second Series)

Living

Of disconsolate mien
Who built a large pile in the past;
In sorrow immersed,
She vowed to my first,
And that ’s what she vowed to my last.
