Deuteronomy 3:6: Who dares blame Thy justice, Lord

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Who dares blame Thy justice, Lord,
Which when their sin was full,
Slew Thy foes with Israel's sword.
And cut off every soul!
Vengeance swept the old away,
But mercy will'd the young to die.
From, though in, the evil day
It snatch'd them to the sky.
