Deuteronomy 4:2: Self Thy word would fain diminish
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)
Religion
Self Thy word would fain diminish,
Pride Thy word would fain increase.
But what Thou art pleased to finish
Never can be more or less;
All Thy word without addition
Renders us for glory meet.
Fits us for the blissful vision,
Makes the man of God complete.
