Psalm: Hide tue!

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

The quiet solitary place
For which I all my life have pined.
The still, sequester'd wilderness
O might I in Thy presence find!
Then shall I rest whom God doth hide,
Unconscious then, that in the whole
Creation aught exists beside
My Saviour, and my happy soul!
