Matthew 15: Jesus, beneath the sense I groan

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)

Religion

Jesus, beneath the sense I groan
Of my unworthiness.
Yet trust, the' unw orthiness I own
Shall never bar Thy grace:
The children first be fed by Thee:
The dogs with crumbs supply:
Then if no more is left for me,
Let me through hunger die.
