Matthew 15:28: That mighty faith on me bestow

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

Religion

That mighty faith on me bestow
Which cannot ask in vain,
Which holds, and will not let Thee go,
Till I my suit obtain;
Till Thou into my soul inspire
The perfect love unknown,
And tell mine infinite desire,
"Whate'er thou wilt, be done!"

But how much greater, O my God,
Thy mercy which the faith bestow'd
On all who now believe.
By violent importunity
To conquer, and extort from Thee
Whate'er Thou hast to give!
