Hymns on the Lord's Supper, 107

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

Religion

All hail, Thou suffering Son of God,
Who didst these mysteries ordain,
Communion of Thy flesh and blood,
Sure instrument Thy grace to gain,
Type of the heavenly marriage feast,
Pledge of our everlasting rest.

Jesu, Thine own with pity see,
Our helpless unbelief remove,
Empower us to remember Thee,
Give us the faith that works by love,
The faith which Thou hast given increase,
And seal us up in glorious peace.
