Death & Dying

John 12:33: From the tribunal of Thy cross

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 11 (1871)

Death & Dying

From the tribunal of Thy cross
Satan and sin Thou dost condemn.
But vindicate Thy people's cause.
And merit saving grace for them:
Thy cross to us a gracious throne.
The instrument of good we find,
The source of every blessing own,
And life procured for all mankind.
