Waiting for Redemption, Hymn 2

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Hymns and Sacred Poems (1749) · Osborn ed., vol. 4 (1869)

Religion

A Guilty soul, by sin oppress'd,
Weary of wandering after rest,
Wretched, and bare, and poor, and blind,
I now my want of all things find.

All things I want, but One is nigh,
My want of all things to supply:
Pardon, and peace, and liberty,
Jesus, I all things have in Thee.
