Living

Turquoise

by Ella Wheeler Wilcox 1850–1919

From Poems of Sentiment (1909)

Living

And, waking, missed its mother’s arms, and wept.
Those angel tear-drops, falling earthward through
God’s azure skies, into the turquoise grew.
