Aeschylus
Aeschylus (c. 525–456 BC) is the Athenian tragic poet; the epitaph Paton prints under his name is the one traditionally said to have been written for his own tomb. Paton's Index of Authors includes the poet among those of Book VII. The scan of Paton's index of authors used here does not give a date for the poet; the date shown is the conventional one.
This archive carries the 1 epigram ascribed to the poet in the second volume of W. R. Paton's prose translation (Book VII: 255).
