Burggraf von Rietenburg

fl. c. 1150–1170

The Burggraf von Rietenburg is one of the earliest named German minnesingers, a nobleman of the Bavarian Danube region in the second half of the twelfth century, of whom only a few strophes survive.

One of his songs appears here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
