Ghazâlî

d. 1534

Ghazali is the pen-name of Muhammed Chelebi, a distinguished poet of Bursa, nicknamed Deli Birader, Mad Brother, for his jovial but dissolute habits.

The poems here are taken from E. J. W. Gibb's Ottoman Poems (1882), the first English verse translations of Ottoman poetry; dates and biographical details follow Gibb's Biographical Notices.

  1. High Honoured Once Was the Noble Iskender
  2. Come is the Autumn of My Life
