Herzog Johann von Brabant

John I, duke of Brabant and victor of the battle of Worringen in 1288, was a prince who also wrote songs, preserved in the Codex Manesse.

One of his songs appears here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
