The Adventures of Kurroglou
Translated by Alexander Chodzko (1842)
Köroğlu is the bandit-minstrel hero of the Turkic and Persian oral destan, the robber-poet whose adventures with his horse Kyrat and his band at Chamly-bill are told by the aushiks. The cycle mixes prose narrative with his improvised songs, here given in Alexander Chodzko's English version of 1842, collected from Persian reciters in thirteen Meetings.
