Book XIV, 105: Another
Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. V, 1918)
I am the part of an animal which affects the ground, and if you take a single letter away from me become a part of the head. If you take away another I shall again be an animal, and if you take yet another away you will not find me one, but two hundred.
This translation is printed as prose in its source edition.
