Reward of Service

Love

"A knight there is," a lady said,
"Hath served me as I wished full fain.
Or ere the time of year be fled,
His due reward he needs must gain.
Now snow and winter seem to me
Flowers and clover fair to be,
When in my arms I hold him fast
Though all the world should take it ill
Yet must he get his will at last!"
