Nature

The Nightingale

by Anonymous (Middle High German) c. 1200 (composition of the Nibelungenlied)

Translated by Frank C. Nicholson (1907) · From Old German Love Songs (1907)

Nature

That we should thank her without fail
And other little birds, I ween.
I thought upon my lady then,—
My lady, who is my heart's queen.
