From Chrestoleros (1598), Book 1
Social Commentaries
Gallus would made me heire, but suddainly,
He was preuented by vntimely death:
Scilla did make me heire: when by and by
His health returnes and he recouereth.
He that entendes me good, dies with his pelfe,
And he that doth me good, hath it himselfe.
