Social Commentaries

If at any time, Atilius, our acquaintance Paulus is unwell, he practises abstinence, not on himself but, on his guests. You are suffering no doubt, Paulus, have your wound. Mark the Thunderer of the Tarpeian and him of the Palatine: Lachesis, daring a crime, has hurt either Jove. Forasmuch as you see that deities are subject to the indexible Fates, of jealousy you may acquit the gods."
