Book X, Epigram 29 (Ker)
Translated by Walter C. A. Ker (1919–20) · From Epigrams (Loeb, 1919–20)
The dish you used to send me at Saturn's season you have sent to your mistress, Sextilianus, and, at the cost of tiie toga you used to give me on the kalends named after Mars, has been bought a green dinner dress. Now your girls begin to cost you nothing: it is out of my presents Sextilianus, you carry on your amours.
