Book VI, 240
Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. I, 1916)
Archer daughter of Zeus and Leto, Artemis, watcher of wild creatures, who dwellest in the recesses of the hills, this very day send the hated sickness from our bestof emperors forth even unto the Hyperboreans. For Philippus will offer o’er thy altars smoke of frankincense, sacrificing a mountain boar.
