Social Commentaries
Book IX, 435
Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. III, 1917)
Social Commentaries
This bank pays citizen and foreigner alike. Withdraw what you deposited, the reckoning counters meeting their liabilities. Let others find pretexts for not paying; Caicus pays money deposited with him on demand, even at night. Zpxerat, not his reckoning counters (or, as we should say, his books).
This translation is printed as prose in its source edition.
