The Re-echo Club: as by Alfred Tennyson (Purple Cow)

by Carolyn Wells 1862–1942

From The Re-echo Club

Living

Ask me no more. A cow I fain would see
Of purple tint, like to a sun-soaked grape--
Of purple tint, like royal velvet cape--
But such a creature I would never be--
Ask me no more.

A parody by Carolyn Wells, written in the manner of Alfred Tennyson as a contribution to the imagined Re-Echo Club (Purple Cow).
