Genesis: Principled with godly fear
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)
Religion
Principled with godly fear.
Righteousness he might have wrought,
Cain himself, in faith sincere,
Might have his oblation brought;
Cain had then accepted been.
The old murderer abhorr'd,
Conquer'd the besetting sin,
More than conquer'd through his Lord.
