Numbers 20:28: Happy, for ever happy

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

Religion

Happy, for ever happy I,
If call'd, like him, the mount to' ascend;
Thine all-sufficient grace supply.
And bless me. Saviour, with his end:
O that without a lingering groan
I might the welcome word receive,
My body with my charge lay down,
And cease at once to work and live!
