Bonds for ornaments we take
When our faith by bonds is tried:
Jesus bore them for our sake.

Bore, ennobled, sanctified:
Suffering for His cause alone
Confessors of Jesus' name
Sing we into dangers thrown,
(dory in our Master's shame.
2456. But the angel of the Lord... opened the prison, dfc. —. 9.
Men should patiently endure,
Leave their Cod to act for them:

Bars and chains cannot secure
Whom He willeth to redeem:
Christ, whose might invincible
Burst the prison of the grave,
Christ who shuts and opens hell
Can He not from dungeons save?
