Charles Van Lerberghe

Charles Van Lerberghe (1861–1907) was a Belgian poet and playwright who wrote in French and is particularly identified with the Symbolist movement.

Jethro Bithell's 1911 anthology classes him as a Fleming, and notes that although he condemned free verse in a letter of 1905, his own work is a monument to its practicability.
