Atta Troll
A Summer Night's Dream
Translated by Edgar Alfred Bowring (1908)
Heine's mock-heroic satire in twenty-seven cantos, written in 1841 and published in 1847: a dancing bear escapes from his master at Cauterets in the Pyrenees, and the pursuit becomes a burlesque of the political poets and doctrinaire radicals of the day.
