André Fontainas

1865–1948

André Fontainas (1865–1948) was a Belgian Symbolist poet and critic, born in Brussels, who spent much of his life in France.

Jethro Bithell's 1911 anthology classes him as a Fleming with some French admixture, and records that he translated Keats and Milton's Comus and Samson Agonistes and wrote a history of French painting.
