In Absence

by Tu Fu 712–770

Translated by Herbert A. Giles (1898) · From Chinese Poetry in English Verse (1898)

Relationships

On the green hills the red flowers seem to burn;
Alas! I see another spring has died
When will it come — the day of my return?
