Love
Dönsek mi bu aşkın şafağından,
Gitsek mi ekâlîm-i leyâle?
Bizden daha evvel erişenler,
Ağlar bugün evvelki hayâle...
Dönmek mi? Ne mümkün geri dönmek,
Düştüyse gönüller bu melâle?
Bir eldir ufuklardan uzanmış,
Zulmet bizi çekmekte visâle...

Codex Note
The title means 'At Dawn'. Lovers at the dawn of their love ask whether to turn back, and the answer is that once hearts have fallen into this longing there is no return: darkness reaches from the horizon and draws them on toward union.
